Two must-see grocery sites in the Twin Cities
The web, being a cluttered place the way it is, rarely produces something new that I am amazed by. Well, I guess I should further that statement by saying that if those ideas that are out there, I am not finding them. Here, though, are a couple of them that relate to grocery shopping, something most of us have to do from time to time. The average U.S. household spends $3240 a year on groceries.
1. Coborn’s Delivers (cobornsdelivers.com): This was formerly Simon Delivers, and I had used Simon in the past and just when I was getting excited about it, they folded. It coincided with the near-$4 gas prices and the rising cost of shipping. Coborn’s is pretty much the same as that. Still, as far as online grocery shopping and a very successful way of doing it, Coborn’s is the best in class. CNN
2. The Grocery Game (thegrocerygame.com): This is a site that provides information on grocery shopping I have never seen before. They talk about the trends in shopping — the 12-week cycle — and how to exploit it for maximum savings. For a small fee (and for which you can try for a month for just a dollar) they will even provide you with a list for each of your local grocery stores listing items that you should stock up on and a separate grouping of items that are fair deals, but that you should only buy if you immediately need them.
I’ll leave the rest of the details for you to explore. If you have any must-see sites for me in the meantime, please leave a comment.
