The Australian-born mogul, who controls media interests around the world, also criticised Obama’s proposed tax policies which include granting rebates to most US workers.
“Forty percent (of the US population) don’t pay taxes, so how can he give them a tax cut?” he said.
“But you can give them a welfare cheque which he has promised — a grant of 500 dollars — which will disappear very fast. It’s not going to turn the economy around at all.”
Not that this hasn’t been said, but consider the people who have said this.

David Warren of sympatico.ca has a fantastic article pointing out the audacity of an American electorate that would make a man’s first “steady” job be the President of the United States. He points out that, more than anything, it shows the loss of Christianity in our country:
Deeper than this: Obama has presented himself from the start as a messianic, “transformational” leader — and thus played deceitfully with ideas that belong to religion and not politics. That he has done this so successfully is a mark of the degree to which the U.S. itself, like the rest of the western world, has lost its purchase on the Christian religion. Powerful religious impulses have been spilt, secularized.
In this climate, people tend to be maniacally opposed to the sin to which they are not tempted: to giving Christ control over the things that are Caesar’s. But they are blind to the sin to which they are hugely tempted: giving Caesar control over the things that are Christ’s.
We are about to take a very scary plunge, indeed.

Huizenga wants to sell Ross another 45 percent of the team by Dec. 30, the source told The Palm Beach Post. Huizenga is believed to be motivated by his belief that Barack Obama will win the presidency and help implement tax policies that would take a bigger chunk of Huizenga’s revenues from a sale.
If he is willing to sell a huge portion of his team, think of all of the layoffs that will be coming from other business owners during an Obama administration!

McCain had his best night of the campaign tonight. I sincerely hope it wasn’t too little too late, though I’m fearing that this thing is over. Still, McCain put B.O. on the defensive all night long, pointing out his far-left liberalism including his plan to raise taxes, his blatant disregard for human blood, his socialist health care ideas, and his shady ties and frightening lies that have become the theme of the B.O. campaign.
A lot of people brighter than me will have articles tomorrow on either side. Tonight, however, it was clear that John McCain was (finally) the winner. Let’s hope this kicks off one more comeback for the comeback kid.

The Obama campaign met with Muslim activists to try to garner their support, and they did it as secretly and privately as possible:
Several participants told NBC News that Husaini and other speakers delivered a standard Obama campaign pitch. “They said, ‘We’re here to get the concerns of Muslim voters and let everyone know that the Obama campaign does want the support of the Muslim community,’ ” recalled one participant, who requested anonymity. The meeting was not advertised and some attendees got text phone messages notifying them that day of the meeting’s location, the participant said.
You know, most of the time the American voter is smart enough to see through irrelevant attack ads, etc. But this is NBC News — the National Barack Channel — pointing this out. We should be afraid. Very afraid.
The Obama campaign has been delicately trying to court Muslim American voters in key battleground states while simultaneously knocking down Internet rumors that attempt to link the presidential candidate to radical Islam. Sen. Obama is a Christian.
If this wasn’t a big deal, why is it so delicate?

First we heard about Obama’s ties with a radical minister, Jeremiah Wright. Then we heard about his affiliations with crooks and terrorists, including taking money from and even advising from Fannie Mae execs and sitting on boards with Bill Ayers. Now, we find out a little something that perhaps should have people more worried than all of the above: Obama is a true-blue socialist.
This guy is as far out on the left as any Presidential candidate in many of our lifetimes. As a bumper sticker I recently saw read: “Just say no to B.O.”

During the 2nd Presidential Debate last night, Obama was asked:
What is the Obama doctrine for use of force that the United States would send when we don’t have national security issues at stake?
His answer started with:
OBAMA: Well, we may not always have national security issues at stake, but we have moral issues at stake.
McCain, answering second and knowing that there wasn’t going to be much room for separation on this issue — of course both are going to say that there are some issues that are important enough for us to engage in despite not being a matter of national security — should have created his own separation and said:
Of course there are going to be times when we need to use our military to uphold the dignity of the human being, even in instances where there is no immediate threat to the United States in terms of our national security. While it should not always fall the shoulders of the United States to police these issues worldwide, when we do see grave situations that simply cannot withstand the time for the bureaucratic United Nations to act we need to be prepared to act swiftly to save innocent lives. When I’m President, we will calmly and rationally assess these situations as they present themselves, yet we will always be prepared to move at a moment’s notice, both for the sake of national security and for the sake of promoting human dignity.
First, however, we need to promote human dignity in the United States of America. There are 10,000 atrocities happening in delivery rooms every day. To put that into perspective, there is a 9-11 happening every day — every day; an assault on our own pre-born children. Senator Obama not only supports this culture of death, including unfettered access to embryonic stem cells, euthanasia, and human cloning, but he even goes so far as to say that a child who was in the process of being murdered, but lived, should have a second dagger sent to his or her tiny little heart. Ladies and gentlemen, we can only be credible in our force to promote human dignity when we take care of the atrocities happening at home. We are 3.7 million children poorer every year as a result of abortion. As President, I will see to it that the dignity of our most precious resource — human blood — is protected with all of our might, a stark contrast from the radical and dangerous views of Senator Obama on these issues.

I am not the author of this information but I thought it was relevant information to the ill-advised bailout bill.
Franklin Raines…
…was a Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Fannie Mae. Raines was forced to retire from his position with Fannie Mae when auditing discovered severe irregularities in Fannie Mae’s accounting activities. At the time of his departure The Wall Street Journal noted, ‘ Raines, who long defended the company’s accounting despite mounting evidence that it wasn’t proper, issued a statement late Tuesday conceding that ‘mistakes were made’ and saying he would assume responsibility as he had earlier promised. News reports indicate the company was under growing pressure from regulators to shake up its management in the wake of findings that the company’s books ran afoul of generally accepted accounting principles for four years.’
Fannie Mae had to reduce its surplus by $9 billion.
Raines left with a ‘golden parachute valued at $240 million in benefits. The Government filed suit against Raines when the depth of the accounting scandal became clear. http://housingdoom.com/2006/12/18/fannie-charges/ .
The Government noted, ‘The 101 charges reveal how the individuals improperly manipulated earnings to maximize their bonuses, while knowingly neglecting accounting systems and internal controls, misapplying over twenty accounting principles and misleading the regulator and the public. The notice explains how they submitted six years of misleading and inaccurate accounting statements and inaccurate capital reports that enabled them to grow Fannie Mae in an unsafe and unsound manner.’ These charges were made in 2006. The Court ordered Raines to return $50 Million Dollars he received in bonuses based on the misstated Fannie Mae profits.
Tim Howard
…was the Chief Financial Officer of Fannie Mae. Howard ‘was a strong internal proponent of using accounting strategies that would ensure a ’stable pattern of earnings’ at Fannie. In everyday English – he was cooking the books.
The Government Investigation determined that, ‘Chief Financial Officer, Tim Howard, failed to provide adequate oversight to key control and reporting functions within Fannie Mae.’ On June 16, 2006, Rep. Richard Baker, R-La., asked the Justice Department to investigate his allegations that two former Fannie Mae executives lied to Congress in October 2004 when they denied manipulating the mortgage-finance giant’s income statement to achieve management pay bonuses.
Investigations by federal regulators and the company’s board of directors since concluded that management did manipulate 1998 earnings to trigger bonuses. Raines and Howard resigned under pressure in late 2004. Howard’s Golden Parachute was estimated at $20 Million!
Jim Johnson
A former executive at Lehman Brothers, who was later forced from his position as Fannie Mae CEO. Look at the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight’s May 2006 report on mismanagement and corruption inside Fannie Mae, and you’ll see some interesting things about Johnson. Investigators found that Fannie Mae had hidden a substantial amount of Johnson’s 1998 compensation from the public, reporting that it was between $6 million and $7 million when it fact it was $21 million. Johnson is currently under investigation for taking illegal loans from Countrywide while serving as CEO of Fannie Mae.
Johnson’s Golden Parachute was estimated at $28 Million.
WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
FRANKLIN RAINES – works for the Obama Campaign as Chief Economic Advisor
TIM HOWARD — is an Economic Advisor to Obama
JIM JOHNSON — Senior Obama Finance Advisor and ran Obama’s Vice Presidential Search Committee
