The true value of Glen Mason to the University of Minnesota football program shows in the
ESPN recruiting class rankings this morning. Where do the Gophers fit in the Big Ten?
Well, it's safe to say from the start, that Ohio State, Michigan, and Penn State are going to be top 3, in some order. We don't expect to top them. It's probably also safe to assume that Michigan State and Wisconsin might have us beat. So, how about 6th? Nope. 7th? Nope.
How about a lowly 10th out of 11? That's right: the Gophers had a worse recruiting year than Illinois, Iowa, Purdue, and Northwestern. They could only top Indiana in the Big Ten, and not by much.
Other schools rated above our Golden Gophers include:
- Princeton
- Baylor
- Grambling
- Air Force
- William and Mary
- Nevada
- Rutgers
- Duke
Now those are some football powerhouses for you! Good thing we just hand Mr. Mason a blank check each year and allow him to determine what he's worth. And good thing I'm one of the people paying his salary.
What a joke.
As if it weren’t bad enough to be beaten by some I-AA teams who cannot offer scholarships, you got beat by a friggin’ SERVICE ACADEMY!
RAH!
Yeah, they think the reason people don’t show up for the games is because of the Metrodome. Michigan, Ohio State, or Penn State would fill the Dome every week. The Gophers are a crap team year in and year out and they play even worse teams non-conference. Every year we are destined for the Sun Bowl or Music City Bowl or whatever other third-rate bowl they can drum up for us.
The Gophers laid a whooping on a pretty good Toledo team last season ;)
RAH!
(the Gophers’ fight song is the most retarded thing I have ever heard…Janelle and I scream “RAH!” whenever the Gophers are mentioned on TV)
I don’t know what RAH means? The only thing I know is the M – I – N – N – E – S – O – T – A, Minnesota! Minnesota! Yeeeeeeaaaaaaay Gophers!
That’s the only part I know. I don’t go to many football games, though. ;)
At the end of their cheer, they scream the word “RAH!”
It’s even more retarded than their cookie cutter Abercrombie and Fitch look.
