I always love statements like this (from an ESPN.com article):
Williams, 47, compiled a 17-31 record in three seasons (2001-2003) as the Buffalo Bills' head coach. He joined the Redskins in 2004, with his contract then making him one of the NFL's top-paid assistants, and has steadily rehabilitated his image. Most league observers feel Williams will be markedly better in a second stint as a head coach.
Am I a league observer? Who is included among "league observers?" I would wager a bet that if you asked most "league observers" they wouldn't have the slightest clue whether Williams would be better in a second stint as a head coach.
It's just lazy journalism, that's all. How about finding one or two well-known people who can give you a quote. That's far more powerful than saying "most league observers."
