There were rumors that Roberto Luongo could be traded amidst a bad Florida Panthers losing streak. Quoted in a TSN.ca story, Mike Keenan said about the chances of Luongo being traded, "no...none."
I hope this is the whole truth. Luongo gives any team he plays for a chance to win almost regardless of how the team plays. Hopefully, come January, Luongo will be signed to a multi-year deal for whatever it takes.
His agent said yesterday that there is no chance that Luongo would be traded. Keenan was also quoted as saying that if things don’t turn around, he will have to put Luongo on the block to shake up the team.
Additionally, the Avs have had scouts at the last three Panthers games.
That last bit is really interesting. I heard that on one of the Panthers broadcasts. It will be interesting to see. I think it’s fairly suicidal to trade Luongo, but then I don’t know who or what they could get for him, either.
