The Florida Panthers, last night, lost the rest of their hope for a playoff spot this season. It was one heck of a try for a miraculous move in the standings, however. They were in 13th place, out of 16, on the day of the trading deadline. They proceeded to win 11 of 13 including a run of 7 straight to vault to 10th (one point out of 9th, currently), but the math has booted them from contention, for all practical purposes. This is going to be one heck of a team to watch next year if they can hang on to Roberto Luongo.
