Red McCombs had the nerve to admit, today, that
he almost fired Mike Tice in an effort to get more out of Randy Moss -- to "spark" Moss.
"I gave serious thought to replacing Mike when Randy was coming off injury," McCombs said, speaking by teleconference from Texas. "I was trying to think, 'How can I make this thing work where we get that spark?'"
This is the same Red McCombs who is thirty (30) million dollars under the salary cap. The fact that Mike Tice won half the games last year under these circumstances should have earned him coach of the year (and I'm not even that big of a fan of some of his game decisions). Hopefully Red McCombs can join Norm Green in horrible owner infamy within a few months. Why would the clown even say something like that? What purpose does that serve now?
