I’ve always found the more innovative solution to be to rid our nation of its burdensome income tax and move to a national sales tax. While there are many attractive things about it, the greatest is that it gives a man control over his taxation as he can simply avoiding purchasing products to avoid paying tax.
I think this option is great, in theory. There would likely be a high rate of corruption within that system, but I’m not so sure it would be any worse than what it is now. At the very least, it would be an interesting experiment on society. Sales tax on a given item would be enough that it would likely be a deterrent to buying it.
