Catholics against Kerry

Catholics against Kerry brings up an interesting point. John Kerry is so much for abortion in all forms that his official site won't even link to the democratic group, "Democrats for Life." How telling, huh? If a group like that were to become more mainstream, Catholics would actually have a choice on who to vote for. I must say that I agree with Justin Dziowgo over at Democracy of the Dead when he says the Church should tell people how to vote. They couldn't, in fact, force them to go vote any particular way, but I've often wished (over the last couple months especially) that the Catholic Church would just admit to it's body that a Catholic cannot vote for John Kerry and remain in good standing with the Church. I don't always fault the people who are going to vote for a third party candidate, either, but at least Bush doesn't stand completely opposite of every one of the five non-negotiables (abortion, euthanasia, gay marriage, emybryonic stem cell research, and human cloning). A Catholic cannot vote for John Kerry and remain in the state of grace. There are very likely a number of Catholics who do not know this and should be told. Politics should work for the Church, not the other way around.
