Podcasting is in. It's basically the practice of recording some audio and posting it as radio program that can be downloaded and played on a computer or a portable audio device. I think I remember doing this even before an iPod, even though it was in Real Player format. The
Frank Viola Wiffle Ball League recorded some audio of off-season ping-pong tournaments and made it available for download much in this way. Well, recently I've tried a few out and I'm really taking a liking to some. I have listened to some via my Rio (MP3 player) and others via the PC. Some of the better ones out there are:
The Great White North
The Daily Source Code
The Catholic Insider
This seams like it would be fun to do, though I would need a solid topic or format in order to stay with such a task. Many of these are some guy just turning on a mic and talking for a half-hour and aren't very good. Some are great just for that reason. In any case, take a listen. The Great White North is a good, clean program that is fun to listen to. Most of the time it is recorded by a guy during his drive home from work, just north of the border.
