Shelly's and my last honeymoon stop.
Enjoying the sun!
Be subordinate to one another out of reverence for Christ.
Wives should be subordinate to their husbands as to the Lord. For the husband is head of his wife just as Christ is head of the church, he himself the savior of the body. As the church is subordinate to Christ, so wives should be subordinate to their husbands in everything.
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ loved the church and handed himself over for her
to sanctify her, cleansing her by the bath of water with the word, that he might present to himself the church in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. So (also) husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. For no one hates his own flesh but rather nourishes and cherishes it, even as Christ does the church, because we are members of his body.
"For this reason a man shall leave (his) father and (his) mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh." This is a great mystery, but I speak in reference to Christ and the church. In any case, each one of you should love his wife as himself, and the wife should respect her husband.
Ephesians 5
Today, I'm a lucky man.
I'll be back when I'm back.
I was just thinking -- we are only one (1) year from election mode. Just think of all that has happened in a year. President Bush won the election in a landslide, won his base over tenfold with his first Supreme Court nomination, and then disappointed a good amount of them with his second. That's to say nothing of the tsunami, the hurricanes, a new Pope, the London bombings, etc.
In my own life I've been engaged for nearly a year, have bought a house (with Shelly), and will be married shortly. One of my brothers and his wife are expecting. Cousins and good friends have been married and are now expecting. Wow. What a difference a year makes! And what a blur...
Anyway, just a long, rambling dissertation after checking my blog postings from
one year ago.
Mark Noonan
will be wed next weekend! Congratulations, Mark. Click on the link and congratulate him.
Shelly and I will be married in two weeks, and it's about time!
FYI, my comments still don't appear on blogsforbush.com. Oh well.
I'm just going to call him or her "Baby M" for now, but here is a picture of the baby I mentioned
earlier.

Please keep him or her in your prayers.
A couple of friends of Shelly's and mine found out, through ultrasound, that their baby has
Gastroschisis. I am asking anyone who reads this and is so inclined to pause shortly and pray for their baby. Whatever your faith, they can use God's healing power as well as comfort as they anxiously await the March delivery of their first-born child.
Please also pray for all pregnant women and their babies, that they may remain healthy and strong throughout, without complication.
What does that number represent?

The American trend toward supersizing has extended to weddings, with the average price tag for a day of wedded bliss soaring to a whopping $26,327 — a 73 percent increase in the last 15 years, according to the annual "American Weddings" study conducted by the Fairchild Bridal Group.
Ouch! Thank God
Shelly doesn't have such extravagant tastes as the "average" person. If we *had* $26, 327 to spend on the wedding, I'm quite certain we'd instead opt for the wedding, a new used car, and perhaps a few repairs/upgrades around the house.
