More media bias: Walters showed footage of some of her dumb questions, such as asking Obama whether Wall Street executives should grant themselves a Christmas bonus. She also asked how he felt when he read that the three CEOs of the car companies took private planes to Washington to ask for a bailout. Naturally, Obama thought it was shockingly out of touch.

Stop the tape. Earth to Walters: Did it ever occur to you that Mr. Obama campaigned all over America by flying on a huge private 757 jet, painted as a vehicle of “Change” with a half-million dollar makeover for the general election, complete with Obama logos sewn into the headrests? And how do you suppose Ms. Walters travels? By carpool? What sheer hypocrisy — on both their parts.
Walters continued the gushing on her daytime show “The View.” Doing her usual tap-dance of faked objectivity, Walters cooed: “I’m supposed to be very neutral, but they are the most appealing couple, and so smart.” It’s easier to look smart when no one’s asking you a brainteaser. Walters shamelessly tried to sell the interview as super-substantive. Obama was asked about a range of matters foreign and domestic in the first 20 minutes, but all with a deeply deferential style.

In order to eat that turkey…

Written on November 21st, 2008 by Juddno shouts

You know that turkey you will eat next Thursday?  Just in case you didn’t know, someone has to kill that turkey first.  The media didn’t know that, and they’re shocked!

Kind of ironic considering the way they slaughtered, Palin.  Lots of symbolism there…

Michael Malone writes about the bias and decline of the media, and where they have gotten the gumption to do what they are doing. The whole thing is so good that I will not do the injustice of quoting a paragraph or two.  Just read it.

It comes down to this…

There is a simple and inexpensive (yet altogether-too-bad-it’s-necessary) remedy to the political bias of the sit-down interview shows, and Glenn Reynolds tells us about it.

But there’s a remedy now, with technology being what it is. If I were a candidate, I think I’d bring my own camera to interviews, shoot the whole thing and post the unedited raw video on the Web.

We already knew it, but Whoopi again proves she’s a stooge

Written on July 18th, 2008 by Juddone shout

Not only is Whoopi and the other black woman on The View a stooge, but they are hypocrites.  If you want a situation to improve, you must also walk the walk yourself.  You aren’t doing yourself any favors by sending mixed messages.  If you would be offended by someone using a certain word or phrase, don’t be a stooge and use the word yourself.  And, if you do, then don’t come to me with your tears.

Once again, Mrs. Hasselbeck is right on the money.  I wish she wouldn’t burst into tears every time this stuff happens, however.  She’s fighting the good fight and she doesn’t need sympathy to win these arguments (perhaps the tears are real but she needs to toughen up then).

The great global warming swindle

Written on March 26th, 2007 by Juddno shouts

Thomas Sowell pointed out, last week, the hogwash that is all of this global warming talk. While, yesterday, Al Gore stated that the “debate was over,” there are a good number of scientists saying “not so fast, Al.” While he would like to take credit for letting the world in on a big secret, it is about as valid as the claim that he invented the internet.

There is no question that the globe is warming but it has warmed and cooled before, and is not as warm today as it was some centuries ago, before there were any automobiles and before there was as much burning of fossil fuels as today.

None of the dire things predicted today happened then.

The British documentary goes into some of the many factors that have caused the earth to warm and cool for centuries, including changes in activities on the sun, 93 million miles away and wholly beyond the jurisdiction of the Kyoto treaty.

Sowell points out “The Great Global Warming Swindle,” a documentary produced by Great Britain’s Channel 4 that, funny, hasn’t been picked up by any American news channels. We’ll stop short of calling it the media’s liberal bias showing through (well, I suppose we didn’t, either). Fortunately for us, there is this little thing called the internet (Al, you knew that would come back to haunt you, didn’t you?). You can watch it on Youtube.

Amen, Alleluia!!

I’ve disagreed with Archbishop Flynn’s position on several things, and I still do, but I must take timeout to acknowledge one of the greatest acts he has ever performed as a Church leader: his editorial in the Star Tribune yesterday. The true beauty of this article is that it is not just another “that play those goofballs over at the U are putting on is anti-Catholic” note. Instead, it shows just how biased the media was in reporting this. They threw blanket statements out there about the Church’s contingent, something that is terribly incorrect, politically, in today’s society about any other group of people. The article Archbishop Flynn refers to is a promotional piece for the play (in no uncertain terms). Most importantly, the article is arguably a worse case of Catholic-bashing than the play itself, as it is published as non-fiction (at least the play has whatever merits there are to being fictional!).

I don’t even want to copy a paragraph of the archbishop’s editorial because I want you to read it in full. Please click here to do that.

God bless Archbishop Flynn for standing strong in defense of Your Church.  Help us all to do so, as difficult as it may be at times.

Not in Kansas Anymore

Written on November 17th, 2006 by Juddone shout

From Bill O’Reilly:

According to published reports, Tiller injects the fetus with poison while in the womb, removes it, and disposes of the body. While it’s true that sometimes a mother’s health is severely impacted in late term, most doctors agree this is rare. Babies can now live after 22 weeks when removed by C-section. Late term abortions are almost never necessary.

Unless the mother wants out, that is. And that’s what some people believe Tiller is doing—terminating viable, healthy babies because the mother simply doesn’t want the child.

While the American media wails about alleged human rights violations at Guantanamo Bay, champions fetal stem cell research in the name of compassion, and hollers aplenty at the atrocities in Darfur, the press is largely ignoring the Tiller story, with the exception of the Los Angeles Times. It has glorified Tiller.

As Mr. O’Reilly points out, a baby is safer in France and Holland than in Kansas. The media is more concerned about us keeping prisoners up too late. Sad.

Does anyone believe what they see anymore?

There is a slightly better-quality version of this here. This proves the media is not only biased, but also particularly interested in the most gruesome of photos. Why? They sell.

Can we call it what it is, now?

Written on August 7th, 2006 by Juddno shouts

If the altering of photos to make situations look worse than they are isn’t media bias, then what is?

Take a look at the original:

And then the altered photograph:

But there’s more. Check out this post at Powerline.

What function does “retracting” the photos do? How does this aid us to know the extent to which this criminal conduct has occurred? For much of what happens in our world, we can verify the truthfulness of one’s account. In many other cases we are at the mercy of the media. It just goes to show that you cannot trust all that you see, hear, or read. Perhaps you cannot trust any of it in the case of Reuters, a vehicle for Hezbollah propoganda.
