Liberals, by in large, are massive hypocrites:
Arthur Brooks, the author of a book on donors to charity, “Who Really Cares,” cites data that households headed by conservatives give 30 percent more to charity than households headed by liberals. A study by Google found an even greater disproportion: average annual contributions reported by conservatives were almost double those of liberals.
Other research has reached similar conclusions. The “generosity index” from the Catalogue for Philanthropy typically finds that red states are the most likely to give to nonprofits, while Northeastern states are least likely to do so.
The upshot is that Democrats, who speak passionately about the hungry and homeless, personally fork over less money to charity than Republicans — the ones who try to cut health insurance for children.
Liberals do not care about anyone but themselves, despite their attempt to point the more-generous conservatives as the evil ones.

Not only is Whoopi and the other black woman on The View a stooge, but they are hypocrites. If you want a situation to improve, you must also walk the walk yourself. You aren’t doing yourself any favors by sending mixed messages. If you would be offended by someone using a certain word or phrase, don’t be a stooge and use the word yourself. And, if you do, then don’t come to me with your tears.
Once again, Mrs. Hasselbeck is right on the money. I wish she wouldn’t burst into tears every time this stuff happens, however. She’s fighting the good fight and she doesn’t need sympathy to win these arguments (perhaps the tears are real but she needs to toughen up then).

Well, it’s about time. It’s something we have all been waiting for and the world is now rejoicing. It took a lot of time, and apparently a lot of thought and discussion. But, there it is, finally: the Commonwealth of Virginia has apologized for its role in slavery.
RICHMOND, Va. – Meeting on the grounds of the former Confederate Capitol, the Virginia General Assembly voted unanimously Saturday to express “profound regret” for the state’s role in slavery.
Thank God for this.
While we are at it I, as a man, apologize for everything men have done. As a Catholic, I apologize for everything Catholics have done. As a 26-year-old, I apologize for everything 26-year-olds have done. As a husband, I apologize for everything husbands have done. As a human, I apologize for all offenses by mankind. I have profound regret for all offenses.
(End of sarcasm.)

I’m not sure what’s worse: Randy Moss’ celebration last Sunday or some of the reactions to it. Here’s Neon Deion Sanders take:
“Randy is the kind of dude that … he’s like a beautiful woman who can’t cook, doesn’t want to clean and doesn’t want to take care of kids. You really don’t want her, but she’s so beautiful that you can’t let her go. But Randy, you have to take the good with the bad. Unfortunately, when the bad is bad, it’s really bad, but there’s so much good, you can look past it.”
I’m not quite sure what to say.

From Linda Ronstadt:
“People don’t realize that by voting Republican, they voted against themselves,” she says. Of Iraq in particular, she adds, “I worry that some people are entertained by the idea of this war. They don’t know anything about the Iraqis, but they’re angry and frustrated in their own lives. It’s like Germany, before Hitler took over. The economy was bad and people felt kicked around. They looked for a scapegoat. Now we’ve got a new bunch of Hitlers.”
I don’t even know what to say other than Linda Ronstadt should just shut up.

Why didn’t Madonna speak up sooner? We’d have had this thing all figured out and perhaps our country wouldn’t have to be as divided as it is today. Bummer!

In my blatant attempt to move on after the election, one way or the other, I bought a couple of tickets to the Barenaked Ladies concert at the Orpheum in December (for Shelly and me). I was disgusted with them about acting like they knew anything about our country when theirs is in arguably more moral trouble. Still, after November 2nd none of us were going to be able to change the outcome of the election, good or bad, right or wrong. In any case, BNL has a blog, and on that blog Steve Page wrote a letter to American voters. It’s funny because it’s totally wrong, but then it’s funny to see that it isn’t Steve (the ring-leader of the BNL political circus) who is in mourning the days after the election. It’s Jim and Tyler. Not even Kevin, who posted his endorsement.
I have no more problems with these people. They are just wrong about these things. Their value for life is overcome by their love of money. Their value for life is overcome by their love for gay rights. Their value for life is overcome for their love of dictatorship. Of course that’s not what they’ll tell you, and perhaps it’s not quite so cut and dry. In that case, they have their priority list upside down, rightside wrong.

James Taylor is the first induction into the Just Shut UP category of this new blog. Taylor, looking like he’s back on drugs, is joining the ACT vote for change concert series that takes place over several battleground states. I saw James Taylor in the last year at the Xcel Energy Center. It was one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to. It’s slowly being ruined, and all of his great music is now being prostituted for a (faulty) political view.
James Taylor: Just Shut UP!
